Unimed is an insurance provider that partners with Clearhead to allow members to book and redeem therapy directly from their policy, through our booking system.
There are a number of clients whose policies are on a co-pay arrangement. This means that Unimed fund a percentage of each booking and the client funds the remainder. Commonly Unimed will pay 80% of the session cost and the client funds the remaining 20% (20% co-pay), or Unimed will fund 50% of the session cost and the client will fund the remaining 50% (50% co-pay).
When you receive a booking request you can distinguish if the client is on a co-pay client by scrolling to the Payment section of the Appointment Details, accessed by clicking on the booking card.
If you receive a booking request from a co-pay client the payment status will be Funded, they have already successfully paid their portion of the session at checkout, and you will be able to accept or decline as usual.
If you make a booking with a co-pay client, ensure you use their Unimed co-pay allocation. They will be sent an email with the booking details, including a payment link to pay for the remainder of the session not covered by Unimed. Once this is paid the status will change from Awaiting Payment to Funded. See more information here.
When the session has finished, you will be prompted to invoice us for the full amount of the session as normal (combining their self-funded portion and Unimed's contribution).
